Cartwright Conversions is expanding into the consumer market for the first time to sell a range of wheelchair accessible vehicles direct to disabled motorists and passengers.
Popular in the B2B market for its welfare vehicles and its range of ambulances and police vehicles, the company has now created a new range of conversions for individuals.
Cartwright Mobility has been approved by the Motability Scheme as a converter of wheelchair accessible vehicles for disabled motorists and passengers in the UK.
The Yorkshire-based vehicle converter is part of the Cartwright Group: a family-owned business with over 65 years’ experience in manufacturing and body building in the automotive industry.
This is the first time in ten years that a new vehicle converter has been accepted onto the Scheme, which sets high standards for its approved suppliers on the quality and safety of WAVs.
With more than 650,000 customers, the Motability Scheme helps people living with disabilities to achieve independence by providing them with an affordable way to lease a mobility vehicle.
Cartwright Mobility offers rear passenger wheelchair accessible vehicles that seat between six and eight people on four base models: a Ford Transit, Ford Custom, Ford Connect and Renault Trafic.
The range of vehicles has been designed by mobility experts to accommodate the whole family comfortably with room to spare for extra luggage and equipment.

All of the vehicles are converted in a dedicated facility in Doncaster and have passed strict safety measures set by the UK’s governing body for wheelchair accessible vehicles.
Cartwright is offering three year’s warranty as standard and a premium aftercare package that includes a yearly health check on the vehicle’s conversion and access to a free smartphone app.
The App is designed to give customers information specific to their own mobility car, including a calendar for servicing reminders and ‘how to’ user manuals at the touch of a button.
